Qualifying X-country to Stadtlohn and Texel
To obtain a PPL, every student needs to complete a qualifying cross country flight. The requirements? Land at two airports other than your home base, fly one leg that is at least 75 NM, and fly a total of 150 NM over the three flights combined.
I flew mine to Stadtlohn-Vreden airport and then to Texel. I flew a total of 278 NM and my longest leg (Stadtlohn to Texel) was 126 NM. I had a lot of time to watch the beautifully colored flower fields during that stretch. It felt amazing to be let up in a small airplane, all by yourself, to quite literally fly all across the country. 😀Â
